TherapyWhen I see ghosts they look perfectly real and solid -- like a living human being. They are not misty; I can't see through them; they don't wear sheets or bloody mummy bandages. They don't have their heads tucked under their arms. They just look like ordinary people, in living color, and sometimes it is hard to tell who is a ghost.Therapy by QueenWolf12

Dr. Scarecrow taps his yellow nails repeatedly on the arm of his chair.

And we'll use them
To paint the world we live in
With the click of a button
We can capture the perfect moment

Snow fall in the city
Or a dog's affection for a child
We live to paint the world with amazing photographs
A pen & a paper
Are our precious tools
We use them to tell you stories
Or make your next favorite song
They help us write picturesque poems
Or share the latest current events
We live to paint the world with the beauty of words
We draw the world's beauty
With so many colorful tools
Like paint, crayons, ink, and pastels
They help us recreate the beauty around us
And put into portrait our everyday lives

The sound of glass splintering against the pale wall, narrowly missing my head, resounded
through the small house. A short, stocky man lumbered down the hallway, swaying back and
forth and bumping into the walls. 'Uncle is in one of his drunken moods again.' I
thought to myself in disgust. I stood in preparation. I had been expecting this to
happen sometime soon. I dodged yet another one of his crudely thrown beer bottles just as
it hit the table lamp, making it crash onto the hard tiled floor.
"Your blasted parents!" He screamed while raising his arm to throw another empty
" Dumping their bloody child on me! Leaving nothing but this rundown hovel of a
house! Leaving me!" He continued to shout.
He then chucked the bottle, which surprisingly landed on the couch I had been
sitting on moments before. Glancing at the couch, I had time to briefly wonder if he had
any more on him when, sure enough, a final bottle flew through the air and hit me

“Hmph…” Cave grunted, his silver eyes flicking open to look at the younger Dracain, “You’re expecting me to be able to do something about that?”
“Kinda…” Creature looked at him pleadingly.
Cave felt sorry for him, the youngster had been suffering from severe seasickness for the past two days, now they were on calmer waters it was only natural that he would be hungry and perhaps a little dehydrated. He inhaled and exhaled deeply, if truth be told, he was a little hungry himself.
He sat up to get a better look at him, how old was he? Nine perhaps? At a stretch, twelve? Still young enough to be considered a child, most likely his discomfort had been intensified by pining for his mother. The poor lad had gotten himself extremely upset when introduced to Captain Rooke, Cave had heard him crying and screaming before he had even set foot on the Jessica-Ma

The Ballad of Mary EllenMary Ellen's mother won't let her grow up or go away—her grip is strong as death. The Ballad of Mary Ellen by opheliax
My brother Richard first saw Mary Ellen standing half-obscured in an overgrown field. He called out to her, and she turned to look at him. She wore a long white dress with ruffles at her throat and wrists, and she had long black hair loose and tangled from the wind. Her black eyes were sad as they regarded him.
I thought my brother had made up the story to tease me, till one afternoon I found the girl sitting beneath an apple tree, her white skirts tucked beneath her. She looked scarcely spectral, and it was not till I met her black eyes beneath her wide-brimmed hat that I realized this was Richard's mysterious person.
Her nose was covered with light freckles, and her wide mouth curved as she looked at me. "I've been wanting to meet you," she said. She gestured for me to sit near her. "I am not used to meeting people. I was hoping you would see me first and speak to me." There was something m

The Failure of Modern Environmentalism How damaging is it when a group focuses on the way information is presented rather than the credability of the information? If one decides to to leaf through magazines such as Audubon and newsleters such as WWF Focus, a depressing trend can be found. This literature talks more about environmentalist interactions with politicians and their efforts to raise awreness, but not enough on the environment itself or the science that supports the need for proper stewardship of the earth. And whereas there have been positive results from this, such as the recovery of the bald eagle and the peregrine falcon, there are other effects that are far more counteractive to teir goals. The Failure of Modern Environmentalism by NathanielFlyingOwl

The Legendary Irish PeisteIn the sixties, Captain Lionel Leslie tried to lure the monsters of Connemara in county Galway to appear on the surface. He undertook his first experiment in October 1965 in Lough Fadda. Leslie obtained the approval to spring in the lake with dynamite. It was his aim to scare the monster with the shock. 10 seconds after the detonation of 2 kilogram explosives, he saw that a black something appeared. Unfortunately the lake was so troubled by the explosion that it was difficult to recognize details. But what he saw was enough to convince the people of the existence of a monster in the lake. The Legendary Irish Peiste by Malintra-Shadowmoon
In October 1967, Leslie planned to fish out Lough Fadda with a net. His efforts stayed without any success. But in 1968, the Captain planned with a team to search Lough Nahooin bei Claddaghduff (Galway) with the help of a net. It was a little lake, only 90 meters wide and 75 meters broad. They were convinced to find the monster because five months ago, a farmer who lived nearby Stephen Coyne

St. Valentines Day in the year 1900 granted brilliant sunshine to the village of Woodend near Melbourne (Australia). On this day, the Applegate College usually undertook a school excursion in the nearer surrounding of the village. In the early morning, a group of schoolgirls with their teachers set out for a picnic to one of the famous outing places. In the evening, four of them had disappeared, three of them were never seen again.
According to the report, a group of schoolgirls with their teachers drove out for a picnic at Hanging Rock. This geological rock group of rocks and monoliths is several million years old and of vulcanic origin. Around the turn of the century , it was a famous outing place.
The excursion group consisted of 19 girls, most of them were over 10 years old. They were accompanied by their two teachers, Diane de Poitiers and Greta McCraw. At Saturday morning, the group set out to a 7 kilometers far place. They ate there and

“Hello? Who are you?” She just stared at him, confused. She was only 15 years old, focused only on trying to find a cure for her mother.
“Blue Jay,” She replied simply.
The Loremaster had decided to leave the safety of the Guardian Tower in Paxia because of a prophecy his oracle had said only a week before. He was told that the Chosen One would soon make an appearance in the world of Lore. It was easy to say that he was ecstatic. He immediately left, sending a quick word to all of the corresponding Guardian Towers around Lore.
That’s where Blue Jay came into his little ‘fiasco’.
He was travelling with Sage Uldor who resided in Battleon. A few guards were following him because they believed that their leader would alway
Pretty Golden GirlThere once was a girl who was prettier than me.Pretty Golden Girl by GeorgiaKitty
Her hair shone like gold in the sunlight,
And her face was delicate and pure.
Whenever she was smiled,
They all sighed,
For she was their pretty golden girl.
Now, wherever she went,
They all swooned,
Unknown to just how under her spell they were.
It was said that when she laughed
The birds would sing,
And the world was a much happier place
When their pretty golden girl was pleased.
But I was never pleased, nor happy, nor joyful
To see the girl around the town.
For whenever she appeared,
Her magic made me vanish in the face of my peers.
So I took it upon myself,
To rid the world of her and make it more fair.
With knife in hand, and blood stained clothes,
Wounded body, and a face that was pretty no more.
Their pretty golden girl dead.
She had outshined me for far too long.

Chapter XI: Desert Scorpions
It had not been as long as a journey as everyone thought to get to the Desert Scorpions outpost. It had only taken a day, but the path into the Monarch Mountains was still treacherous. The thin winding paths made mobility difficult, and forced many of the large forces to have to stay behind at the base of the path into the mountain. Also, something worse happened to our company of heroes… Twitch took up Hyr’s place of asking ‘are we there yet?’ over and over again.

Hephest that your sister is Mhari, what would I have to do to get you to stop with this?”
“I’ll ask Pad’maa myself, but then again you did let her go to fight Pirates.” Said Kln’na. “Kln’na, be nice to the Dwarf, your aggravating him.&

As he sat there and regained his thoughts, about how the Rotting Man attacked him, about how he asked for help and how those two ingrates didn't come to his rescue and just left him to die...
He clenched his teeth, and his spit felt bitter with anger at the both of them. Some friends they are, he thought to himself. Leaving me all alone to die while they selfishly run back to their pathetic miserable lives, he seethed further.
He got up, using his remaining arm as a support as h

She could have been no older than ten
She was buying some refreshing beverages
To quench the thirst of herself and her friends
On this summers day they had waited outside
Lacking patience they were shouting her name
‘January, hurry up we have to go home!’
From the shop young January soon came
Rushing past me at the speed of her childhood
My lonely heart skipped a beat or two
Either from her soft brown hair that touched my arm
Or the smile she gave as she passed through
Did I hurry through my shopping on purpose
In order to catch young January up?
Fumbling my loose change as I left the store
The cashier complained I’d given her too much
I feel everyone’s eyes boring in to me
So away from the store I swiftly fled
Knowing fine well that I should just return home
But something made me follow the girl instead
Pretending to read the receipt in my hand
I watched closely in the corner of my eye
Which way would young January be walking

Please, give him the love and respect he deserves.
He may seem goofy but he's very sweet.
I know this because he was always there for me when I was sad.

The prospect of Professor Stein's final decisions weighed heavily on Brina's mind over the next few days. She was really worried about what the result would be for her. She didn't want anything to change. She wanted to stay working with Kid.
She kept reminding herself that the weight of her worry wasn't affected by what had happened during the last trust exercise. But every time she told herself that she believed it less and less. Urgh. Like she wasn't already dreading the final decision enough...
Wham. A fist suddenly connected with the side of her face. The impact was enough to make her stumble sideways. She tripped over her own feet and ended up landing hard on her side, dropping the sticks that she'd been holding.
"Ow!" Brina protested. She wasn't sure what to give her attention to - the smarting of her cheek from the blow it had just taken or the throbbing pain in her ankle, which she seemed to have twisted as she'd tripped.

Aleta Green-Cove slammed her back painfully to a cold stone wall. She panted quietly, her right hand slipping something the size of her palm into her trouser pocket. As she caught her breath, options careered through her mind. The way out of this cave system was only a few turns ahead but if she made a dash for it now, she would be seen.
A shuddering, echoing roar burst through the gaping dark tunnel entrance in the wall beside her. The tunnels here were enormous and stretched for miles. But they would have to, Aleta thought grimly, to be the home of such a gigantic beast.
"At least there's only one," she breathed softly. "More than one would be much, much worse."
Suddenly a screeching scream rushed through the tunnel. Aleta covered her ears with her hands, doubling over in an effort not to faint. She gasped as the screech stopped and she could move again. This was bad! It was getting closer.

Or Dex would’ve lost the remote again and she would have to search the whole front room. Or Sy would have just needed some more advice on how to get girls.
But now it was all different because it was all dished out of proportion.
She had been holed up in her room for two days now, forbidden by the Director himself to converse with other people in the programme out of respect of their privacy. She only left her haven for food or training.
During the second day, she started to think that she wasn't cut out
Unfair Chpt 25“Ugh, I give up with you people, honestly!” Cosmo sighed, aggravated by the excess of males around her. The front foyer of their room was literally a bomb-site. Clothes were strewn left, right and centre. Pieces of litter scattered across the floor. The boys in question were sprawled over whatever clean space they came across.
“What’s it to you?” Dex ground out, still annoyed at what his father told him. He just couldn't believe it to be perfectly honest.
“What’s made you so grouchy ‘ey?” Ash questioned him. The joker’s attitude had been affected significantly since Regina’s disappearance. He didn’t have the same gleam in his eyes that usually possessed him.
“Back off Ash, he’s obviously troubled by Regina
ThoughtsYour touch is so soft and sweet and like an angel's skin it pulls me in.Thoughts by blind-runaway
Laying there, my body against your chest, as I listen to your heart beat; God, I feel so blessed.
Dear Lord, you put on this earth a boy that no one can afford, I never knew it could get so good, that someone this great could ever be real, but that's the way I feel.
He puts me up with you, up in that place where he fixed my heart that I thought was beyond repair.
Hold me tight and never let me depart for I gave you my whole heart; and when I'm in your arms it sets me free, when you pull me closer, and in so deep.
For the times you run your fingers through my hair, you say I'm your little angel flying in the sky, little do you know I want to be with you until the day I die.
After all, love isn't a plan. It doesn't have a beginning and certainly has no end; love happens and it is incredibly messy.
People around me can't understand the things I do or say; fighting so hard for something that could cause so much pain.

I screamed as I fell towards the water. It was like a nightmare, it felt like I was moving in slow motion. Even with my super speed I wouldn't be able to escape the water now.
A bunch of ideas that were impossible flashed through my head. I could freeze the water but humans would see. I could part the water but humans would see. I could simply fall and turn into a mermaid but humans would see!
There was nothing I could do now except accept my fate. They'll expose me and I'll never be able to go back home because I'll get arrested. But if I stay here I'll be a science experiment. I couldn't possibly wipe every student and teachers memories. I'm doomed.
This all flashed through my head in a second as I fell. Then I hit the water with a splash. The water engulfed me and bubbles tickled around me as they rose back to the surface. I floated there hovering over the bottom, not wanting to surface.
I'd never thought it'd end like this. I've put my entire

Natalie told me the class we had next was English. I didn't understand why they would need to teach us a language we already knew but I went anyway. As we took our seats a boy in front of us turned around to greet us.
"Hey I'm Collin. You're new here right?" he said addressing me.
"Yeah it's just temporary though, she's usually home-schooled and is seeing what school is like," Natalie added quickly thinking up a reason for my sudden disappearance tomorrow. I once again admired her quick wit. She would be a great lawyer.
"Yes that's right. I'm Marissa by the way," I answered.
"Nice one standing up to Stacy like that. It's about time someone told her off. I'm surprised she gave up so easily though," he added.
"Let's just say, I'm very persuasive," I said smirking at my inside joke.
"Alright class quiet now, the lessons starting," the teacher called out as he walked through the door.
The teacher began to hand out a bunch of rectangular blocks of paper.

As we made our way to the cafeteria I glanced around curiously at everything along the way. The school was a set of two rectangular building separated by a small courtyard in the middle. The building we were just in had 3 levels and housed all the classrooms.
The courtyard was filled with a bunch of decorated gardens with colourful flowers and the grass was a bright green. There were multiple tables placed strategically around and a few kids already sat in them with their lunches.
We headed toward the smaller building ahead and I began to smell food and hear noise as we got closer. Then I was hit by a huge wave of scents and noise as Natalie held open the door for Grace and I. I soon realised the building was actually one big room.
On one side of the room there was a large line of students. They all had trays and were filling their trays with different types of human food available from platters. There was a few adult humans behind the counter working a register
Into the Darkness chapter 10Chapter 10- the Journey BeginsInto the Darkness chapter 10 by Dragongirl651
Three hours West of Skandor, the forest looked even more menacing. The grey trees were taller and thicker, the vines grew thorns and barbs, some of which looked poisonous, and the rivers and streams became rarer and rarer as they advanced. In addition, the forest was filled with SOUND. The chirping and chattering of birds and insects, the wind rustling through the dark leaves, the creaking of branches, and the occasional howl or roar of a distant beast.
Ruan guided the small group through the forest, followed closely by Taryn, who was holding a map and occasionally pointing things out. Ammil was next, followed by Maldor, who seemed ready for a fight at any given moment. Lienne brought up the rear, scanning the forest for signs of movement. At first, the five of them had talked about trivial things- the weather, the changes in their surroundings, the strange trees and animals they encountered. But it wasn't long before t

City hall and the area around it were buzzing with activity. There were Hunters all around- talking to each other, showing off their weapons, eating, buying from the stands that had sprung up overnight... The place was the busiest that Lienne had ever seen it.
Taryn had refused to tell her why it was so important they go. Ever since the disaster that had happened with Ashpelt, neither of them had been particularly excited about Hunting, not even Lienne. So when Taryn woke her and told her in an excited voice that it was important that they go to city hall, Lienne was naturally curious about what had broken his depression.
The focus of the attention seemed to be a notice almost as large as the notice board itself. The paper it was printed on was tinged a light blue, as opposed to the usual whites and yellows that appeared. The crowd gathered around it made it impossible for her to get close enough and see wh

Taryn woke up just before sunrise. It was a habit he had developed over that past few years- he found it easier to Hunt during the twilight hours- sunrise and sunset.
Lienne was still fast asleep. She lay on her side, twitching occasionally in her sleep. Probably dreaming. Taryn didn't know about what, and he wasn't going to ask.
"Lienne." He said softly, then raised his voice, "Lienne!"
"Mmmm..." She mumbled, still half asleep.
"Lienne! Wake up!"
"Do I have to?"
"Yes. we have a werewolf to kill."
Immediately, she jumped up from the bed, looked at him, and stared wide-eyed.
"Your eyes!" She exclaimed, "They're... Normal?"
"It happens. During sunrise and sunset." Although he couldn't see his own eyes, he knew that due to the light conditions his pupils were the size of a normal human's pupil

Now her question was about their homes strange origin. Myvin's facial expression changed a bit. He knew about the castle and its grim history. Fayne just stared at Myvin for a few more seconds in confusion. Was he going to say anything or just ignore her like he usually did? Silver eyes looked to the ground; Myvin took a deep breath and smiled at Fayne. "It's nothing you need to worry about. Don't listen to him, nothing happened here." He explained, his smile unwavering. Fayne poked out her lips and looked to the sky and turned around to look at the castle they called home. With sigh she turned back to the group with a smile.
Konnor tilted his head at Myvin's sudden change of face. A quick glare in Konnor's direction silenced any words that were to spill out of his mouth. He only shoved his hands into his jeans and hunched over a bit so a lock of white hair covered his left eye. Aiden just shook his head. "Guess we won't say anythin',

Chapter 1: Visitors
Dark town, dark castle, not-so-clichéd children.
The said children I'm talking are upstairs in the bathroom. The castle was located in the forest which was also located in a small town called Oryellies. Just because it was a huge and some-what royal-looking castle doesn't mean the family inside was of royal blood. In fact they weren't. The mother's name is not important and neither is the father's name so from here on out you, the reader, will know them as just mother and father or Mr. and Mrs. Pryna, for now. The castle itself was sold by some random Realtor who was trying his hardest to sell that house before it was torn down for the land it was built on. The place was just so beautiful and shouldn't be torn down for something as trivial as land. To describe this place would be to picture one of those old and somewhat sinister castles with the moss growing on the side of the place and the big pointy tops of the two towers that

A flare of jealousy enveloped her as she thought of Robin and Damien living with each other. She flushed and shook her head.
“I mean, Sammy, from before, told me all this shit about how I’m from a different galaxy thing and Robin is somehow connected to this. She told me that something was going to happen to us.” Alexis condensed it for all three of them; even she had some trouble understanding it.
“She did say that some people were going to try and come to ‘collect’ me.” She decided to refrain from going into any more detail due to the way the topic was heading, the last thing she wanted was Ace going ape shit in front of Damien.
Nothing Lasts Forever Chpt 13“Why do you think I honestly need someone with me while I do this?” Robin sighed, rolling her eyes. “Don't girls get emotional about this type of stuff?” He asked, confused for once. He had offered to take over but Robin wouldn’t let him. She was too worried about him getting all emotional about it.
“Most girls yes but I have the time so I can grow it all back again.” She replied, pointing towards the door of her former apartment. She came back to do this and explain to Damien why she will be leaving.
“But still, isn’t it a primary code in your brains to get emotional about hair?” Nero cried, trying to get her to see the point he was trying to make.
“You’re just dragging this on Nero, just let me cut and you can cry over it later.” With a ragged movement

“First, you have to get people on your side. You need to get people you can trust and rely on. Only bring up three people at the maximum. Too many people will attract unwanted attention from your enemies, even your best friend.” Her mother complied.
Robin sighed unhappily, knowing what was going to come next. She was going to have to signal Him. Fucks sake this was going bad. She knew that she could trust Him but he could just take things too bloody well far.
Despite the upcoming events, she still kept her identity carefully concealed beneath the fašade that she had acquired over the many years of her existence. Robin knew that she wouldn’t be exhausted by the prospect of keeping up the mirage but it could help her if she let it go once in a while.
She was walking along the snowy paths when she finally noticed something. A crackling TV was spitting out the news in the pub to her left.
Nothing Lasts Forever Chpt 11Damien sat across the table from Alexis, watching the steam rise from the cup of tea in her hands. Her blue eyes were emotionless, lacking that spark he had seen the first time they met. He watched as the wind played with her silver hair and her long, wolf ears twitched at every sound that was made outside the hotel room.Nothing Lasts Forever Chpt 11 by VerySecretAccount
Alexis, on the other hand, had her mind going at full speed. What the hell was he doing here? Not that she was complaining at all.
They had sat like this for a while now; the only movement was Alexis tacking quick sips from her mug. The air that settled around them was fragile; as if any sudden movement was made it would shatter like brittle glass. For a while, Damien had just taken this time to observe her, it was the first time he had been able to sit comfortable like this with someone. When he was with Robin, he could feel the tension in her muscles, ready to pounce at any given moment.
"What's your name?" Alexis whispered; her eyes trained on the cup, r

lilies were your favorite flower
Those last three months-
A silent drive home from the mall
purse full of stolen makeup
Dinners with my family where no one
bothered to make the conversion
Endless hours spent looking at paint samples
and I was smart to not buy the brushes
The line at the liquor store blended
with the lines on the road
At the same time with you
Then it was summer and you talked me into a country drive. We stopped on the side of the road to watch a cow giving birth in the center of a pasture. But, the calf never rose to its wobbly legs or felt the heat of the Indian summer….it never tasted dandelions.
The mother stood by the calf’s body
long past nightfall
and I stood by yours
long after that

Princess CruisePrincess Cruise by CheryMiste
My aunt, my uncle and I just boarded the boat, and all of us were excited to finally be going on the long awaited cruise trip to Mazatlan, Mexico. I was so stoked for this trip.
My uncle Steve and his girlfriend Christina were down below, watching us and waiting for the boat to leave. It wasn't long until we finally made our way out to sea, and wemy uncle, aunt and Iwaved at them until they were out of sight.
We settled into our rooms. I would be away from home for a whole week, and missing school along with it. I wasn't too worried about that. I wanted to have fun and enjoy the cruise.
Unfortunately, the room we were in didn't have a window, so we couldn't look out at the sea as we traveled. But there were other things to do on the boat. There was a pool, lots of food, a kids group to keep me busy and active and lots of games. I was a big Harry Potter fan at the time, so when I found out there was a Harry Potter game, I was addicted.
I met a little boy in the group, eight
New BeginningsNew year, new me. Megan scoffed at the clichéd thought. People don't change; this was her view on the matter. Her mother was always going to be the conceited and snooty woman that Megan regarded her as. And her father, well, he was always going to be loud and obnoxious no amount of "New year, new me" was going to ever change that. Megan sighed and then shivered as a gust of wind swathed her. She cursed herself for not grabbing her coat on her hurry outside to the balcony. Deciding against returning inside her parents might want her to make small talk at the party they were hosting Megan tipped her head back and looked at the stars. The night was clear and stars shone like tiny gems embedded in the dark purple sky, each a beacon of hope in this forlorn world of hers. She smiled to herself, content for the moment. She knew as soon as she returned inside that that would change. Her parents were throwing a New Year's party for all their friends, and Megan had alwaNew Beginnings by GeorgiaKitty
